Maths Set 1
Practise your 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables - On Friday you will resit Challenge 2, or move onto Challenge 3, so practice your multiplication or division of these tables - see the Maths Page for more details.
Over the next 2 weeks, make an A4 poster which shows information about circles. It must include and explain key vocabulary (diameter, radius, circumference), be colourful and explain how the radius, circumference and diameter of a circle relate to one another
Reading Groups
Group 1 - Continue reading your Catherine Mcphail book at your own pace. Make notes on her style of writing as you go.
Group 2 - ‘Holes’ - Chapters 12- 24 - Summarise one chapter and predict what will happen next.
‘Friend or Foe’ - Chapters 3 - Summarise one chapter and predict what will happen next.
Group 3 - WWII Flashbacks - up to Chapter 19 - Summarise one chapter and predict what will happen next.
Group 4 - Read Chapter 1 of ‘Traitor’s Gate’ and make a list of words you don’t know in your Reading Record.

Do some research at home (don’t forget, you can use books, find films, use the internet, or ask family members) and display what you have found out in a clear and informative way. Maths Set 1

Time yourself saying them, record the time and try to beat it. Ask your family or carers to help you!
Make an accurate scale drawing of something in your house - it could be a room or an object - it’s up to you. Remember, you will have to choose a sensible scale and unit of measurement!

Maths Set 1

Pick a room in your house and estimate the area of the 4 walls, the ceiling and the floor in an appropriate unit of measurement. Work out the volume of air in the room based on your estimates.
Write down all your estimations and working!
Reading Groups
Group 1 - Make sure your book review of ‘Small Steps’ is finished - we want to put the best ones up here on the site!
Start reading ‘Tribes’ - don’t read any more than half of the book please!
Group 2 - Finish ‘Holes’ for Wednesday.
‘Friend or Foe’ - write a book review for the site
Group 3 - Read 2 more chapters and write down the main idea and supporting idea.
Tell someone in your family about what you’ve been reading.
Group 4 - Read 2 more chapters of ‘Battle of Britain’.
Write a summary of what you have read.

You will be making a fact file about an aspect of WW2 in class. You will also be making a powerpoint displaying what you have learned - find useful pictures for the powerpoint, and makes a plan of what information you would like to put in it. You can also use this information in your factfile in class.

For the last 2 weeks our homework has been to create a new invention for a Dragon’s Den project. It must be creative, unique and you have to be ready to present your work to a panel of Dragons…
