We had a very interesting assembly today when we found out all about our new school behaviour policy. Mrs Stewart, Jay, Bronwyn and Mrs Adams did a little play showing how teachers will encourage pupils to behave well in class, and what will happen if pupils choose to break the school rules.
Our school rules are
1 - We do as we are asked
2 - We use appropriate school langauge: no swearing, teasing or put downs
3 - We keep hands, feet and objects to ourselves
We found out that we will have lots of opportunities to change our behaviour, but also what will happen if we choose not to, which will involve being moved to a Reflection Table, losing 5 minutes of Golden Time, having a chat about our behaviour out of class and possibly being asked to work outside the class if we don’t choose to return and follow the rules.
Every day someone in every class will have a certificate sent home to celebrate successin school (good behaviour, effort, achievement or attainment) and every week someone will have an extra-special, secret postcard sent home to let them know just how impressed we are with their contrbution to the school and class that week!
So let’s all work together to make our new policy work and have a happy and productive time at Prestonpans Primary School
