Here is the evidence! I will bring my camera tomorrow to take photos of your efforts.

For homework we had to make a flying machine for a competition in class. It had to be able to fly on its own. There were different categories like ,Planes,Frisbees, balloon and also someone thought it was funny to bring a ball.We all flew them in the playground to see who’s would go the furthest. In the paper aeroplane Lewis and Kieran’s went the furthest.

Cinquains in the sun!

Posted on May 19th, 2008 in home by jhunter

Today we took our classroom outside !  We have been studying the structure of poems and this week we are looking at cinquains. They are 5 line poems. Each line has a different number of words and syllables. Can you work out what the pattern is?

It was such a nice day we thought it would be different to work outside. We all found a spot to work and joined together at the end to share our poems. It was tricky to find the right phrase with the correct number of words and syllables. We will post our finished poems tomorrow.

Onomatopoeia Explosion in 7A

A Day At The Sea

Crystal clear water,

Rippling against the rocks,

Crabs come nearer,

Wind goes farther,

Over the station the black smoke belches out

by Amber Curran

Helping Beautiful

I stared at the sky and,

I stared at the sea,

It went splish, splash, boom and whee,

The clouds above trickle and roar,

Bloob, pitter, patter the mountain galore.

The mountain up high and the sea down low,

The water shimmers clear and glows,

Up the water goes and goes,

Climate change grows more and more.

The clouds reflected the sea tonight,

Wondering what was that light,

The light above cracking through and through,

Shimmering on the rocks I knew.

The light in the sea,

Romantic and Bright,

 But pollution comes to mind,

And I will help this night.

Bang, roar the top comes off whoooosh out comes the water, bubbles and foam.

Splish,splash,splosh the water is gone.

by Grant & Jason

RIVER RAPIDS

bubbling,frothing,foaming

That was the week that was!

Posted on May 9th, 2008 in Uncategorized, home by jhunter

A strange kind of week as I have hardly seen you lot!  I was glad to see you all busily painting the stones for the summer fair ! I think they will look great when they are varnished. We do need lots of volunteers to help on the 24th so do try to come along to help. There will be games to organise and run for the children and this will only be  a success if you HELP!!!!!

Hope you have enjoyed your visits to PLHS this week !

Nearly forgot ! Well done on winning class of the week last week.We still have to have our turn on the space hoppers !

See you all on Monday !)
