Fischy Music

Posted on May 30th, 2008 in Uncategorized, class news by jhunter

What is it?

Fischy music was started ten years ago and they go round schools doing workshops. It was good fun and we had a whole school assembly at the end of the day.Only the sixes and sevens did the morning workshop.we learnt some sign language actions that go along with some of the songs. It was a really good day and everyone liked it.

Did we enjoy it?

Most people in the class chose to join in and just let go but some people didn’t join in. All of us enjoyed it and it was really fun.

Summer Fair Galore

Posted on May 27th, 2008 in Uncategorized by jhunter

Having Fun in the Sun!!!

On the 24th of May our school had a massive Summer Fair that was amazing. Our class did quite a lot including:

Bronwyn, Laura and Kristina working at Lucky Dip 2 and Make-your-own-badge stall. Katy and Lois helped out there too.

Ryan and Brogan at Lucky Dip1.

Amber, Rebecca and Matthew at Painted Stones.

Mrs Hunter at bacon rolls.

Mrs Scott at Hook-a-wine-bottle.

The best part is that we had fun and made money for our school playground that is soon to be refurbished. We all made over £1500 which is quite a lot of money. Thanks to everyone who participated and bought at the Summer Fair it was a BLAST!!! A special thank you to the Parent Council who organised everything at the fair. We all appreciate it at P7ALPHABET.

Cinquains in the sun!

Posted on May 19th, 2008 in home by jhunter

Today we took our classroom outside !  We have been studying the structure of poems and this week we are looking at cinquains. They are 5 line poems. Each line has a different number of words and syllables. Can you work out what the pattern is?

It was such a nice day we thought it would be different to work outside. We all found a spot to work and joined together at the end to share our poems. It was tricky to find the right phrase with the correct number of words and syllables. We will post our finished poems tomorrow.

A Message From Your Pupil Councillor :)

Posted on May 16th, 2008 in pupil council by jhunter

:)News:)

Badges

Pupil Council made badges 2 weeks ago and we got to design them ourselves. On the badge there is the school badge on it and Pupil Council on it. I designed a retro theme but they didn’t like it but it looked soooo cool. It looks decent to me but everyone else seems to like the design. We just got the badge-making kit quite recently so it worked a treat and it will probably have a great use out of it. Also we will be using it in our up and coming fair on the 24th of May.

Other Meeteings

A week ago Mrs Mackinnon wanted the pupil council for a special meeting to discuss class organization. She wanted a pupil point of view so we came up with 10 things that we expect to be ready for us when we walk into a classroom. So the teachers are going to have a meeting about it as well.

Events

The events coming up for Pupil Council are a fathers day event and sports day that we have yet to plan. I will keep you lot updated every week (if something happens).:)

Onomatopoeia Explosion in 7A

A Day At The Sea

Crystal clear water,

Rippling against the rocks,

Crabs come nearer,

Wind goes farther,

Over the station the black smoke belches out

by Amber Curran

Helping Beautiful

I stared at the sky and,

I stared at the sea,

It went splish, splash, boom and whee,

The clouds above trickle and roar,

Bloob, pitter, patter the mountain galore.

The mountain up high and the sea down low,

The water shimmers clear and glows,

Up the water goes and goes,

Climate change grows more and more.

The clouds reflected the sea tonight,

Wondering what was that light,

The light above cracking through and through,

Shimmering on the rocks I knew.

The light in the sea,

Romantic and Bright,

 But pollution comes to mind,

And I will help this night.

Hydrant overflow

Bang, roar the top comes off whoooosh out comes the water, bubbles and foam.

Splish,splash,splosh the water is gone.

by Grant & Jason

RIVER RAPIDS

crash,roar,whoosh on the rocks

bubbling,frothing,foaming

splish,splash,splosh

spurting water on the rocks
