Short but very sunny and hot!!!!

Blossom Time

In the Primary 1 playground there are two cherry trees  blossom-1.jpg and just now they are covered in blossom.  When the wind blows some of it comes off and it is a bit like pink snow.  Chanelle

Storywriting

This week we had to write about something about that we did on the holiday weekend.  I wrote about going to my little cousin, Rebecca’s, birthday party.   ellie.jpg    She was five.   It was in the Community Centre at Port Seton and her friends were all  dressed up.  Rebecca was a pirate and her little sister was Minnie Mouse.  I helped look after the little ones and had great fun.   I was picked as a Star Writer.

This album is powered by BubbleShare - Add to my blog

We chose eleven star writers this week which is a new record for our class.  starwriters.jpg   Ellie

Rainforest Plants

When we came back to school on Wednesday there were some rainforest plants in our topic area.  There is a pink orchid, a venus fly trap and a hibiscus.   flowers.jpg    Our hibiscus is a really bright pink colour and   flower.jpg   I am drawing a picture of it but have not had time to finish it yet.  Coll

Rainforest Covers

I finished my rainforest topic book cover this week.

 rain-1.jpg     rain-2.jpg   rain-3.jpg   rain-4.jpg   rain-5.jpg   rain-6.jpg

These are the ones which were not in the slideshow last week.  Alex

Rainforest Project

Our page this week was about the understory.  courtney.jpg   We had to draw a picture and add in some of the creatures you would find there.   The understorey is the space between the forest floor and the canopy.   page-1.jpg   You would find snakes, butterflies, lizards, frogs and some kinds of birds, all attracted by the flowers and fruit as well as lots and lots of insects.  Monkeys might travel through the understory.  Courtney

Class Book

Mrs Stewart has been promising to help us make a class book  about our trip to the Longniddry Railway Walk since we came back after the holidays.  Seeing it was a very short week on Wednesday morning we did it!    book1.jpg    We had to choose how many pictures we wanted on a page and then drag the photos into their box.  We could choose if we wanted writing on the page as well and then make up what we wanted to say.  When it was all finished it was printed out, laminated and then made into a book for our book corner to go with the other class books we made when we were in Primary 2/5.  Dillon

Picnics on the Field

It has been such nice weather this week that Mrs McLeod and Mr Lavery said packed lunch people could have their lunch, like a picnic, on blankets on the field.       pincic-aerial.jpg          picnics.jpg      It was really really nice being able to have our lunch outside and everyone has been very well behaved and remembered not to leave any litter.   If the weather stays hot and sunny we will be able to do it again.  Amy

PE

We went outside for our gym with Miss Moffat, Miss McConnell and Mrs Mason this week.   pe.jpg    We played a running game with a tube and there was a new game where you had to have a partner.  One person had to lie on the grass and the other had to chuck a beanbag.  The person on the grass had to get up and run really fast to collect the beanbag again.  pe-2.jpg    We also played a game with a hula hoop and a ball.  One person had to throw the ball as far away as they could and then do star jumps while their partner went to get it.  It was very hot and we all went home with pink faces.  Rachel

Rainforest Maths

For our rainforest maths this week we tried the shape games.   r-f-maths.jpg    One was for flat shapes and one for shapes you can hold.    r-f-2.jpg   You had to drag the shapes into the right box.  We were going to play the money games but the money was cents so we decided the person who made up the games must be American.  After the sorting shape game we tried the quiz.   r-f-3.jpg    It was much harder.  Tristian

Show and Tell

jonathan.jpg   For my show and tell I brought a transformer.   dscf3371.jpg    I got it from my friend for a swap.  It can transform into a man or a helicopter.   Jonathan

I brought my baby sister Hannah’s Keepsake Box in for my show and tell.  coll-1.jpg     In it are some of her first clothes and they are so small they look like doll’s clothes.  I showed her first baby bracelet which says “May God bless you with happiness and joy”.   coll-2.jpg     I also had a photograph album with her first photos in it and two pictures of Hannah now she is nine months old.  Coll

I like having our rainforest topic because we have learnt so much about it already!

I found out how to drag bookmarks into the folders but not how to name them because it just says folder 2 folder 3 folder 4 and on.
Emily.
