Storywriting

For our storywriting this week we had to list the things we wanted to do for sunshine day. I wanted to work on my space project book, draw, listen to music, read a book, play football and build with the lego.

These are the things other people wanted to do. Emma

Space Music

On Tuesday afternoon we had some time to listen to the Space music again. We played a game of listening to a little bit of each track and trying to decide which planet it was. Only Lee and I got Saturn correct. Then we listened to a bit of War of the Worlds which my dad had let us borrow. When I was in London with my Auntie Carol we saw one of the Martian robots that was in War of the Worlds. We got to listen to the CD while we were doing our Space Project work. Declan

Sunshine Day

Wednesday was our second Sunshine Day. A Sunshine Day is when we get to do whatever we want -all day! We could play games like dominoes, Uno, Shut the Box. We could make an invitation for our mums to a pampering session in school or a Mothers’ Day card. We could draw our own pictures and put it in a frame for Mothers Day, or we could just draw anything we wanted to. We could use the construction, read a book, or work in the space corner.

Our surprise was that Alan - Mrs Stewart’s son - brought in his W ii for us to play on. I really liked the swimming and we had running and hurdles. Mrs Stewart was really bad at the hurdles. We also had tennis and a boys versus girls tenpin bowling match. In the afternoon we were outside with Mrs Mackenzie playing football, rugby or planting bulbs and we finished our sunshine day with Mrs Mason doing country dancing and games. Sunshine Day Reflections

I liked playing the W ii on sunshine day. My favourite game was the running. Ellie

I liked the swimming on the Wii. Sarah

I enjoyed drawing my picture and putting it in a frame for Mothers’ Day for my mum. Courtney

I liked playing rugby outside and my favourite thing on the Wii was the swimming. The running was really hard to do. I also played Uno with Tristian. Coll

I liked having a go on the Wii and I beat my partner three times at three different events. Emma

The running on the W ii was my best thing. I won my race against a partner. Liam

Space Project

This week we have been looking at Earth and the moon. I found out that gravity on Earth is six times greater than gravity on the moon and that in ancient times many people worshipped the moon as a god or goddess. Dillon

Some of us have moved on to the next planet which is Mars. The length of a day on Mars is nearly the same as on Earth but a year is twice as long - 687 days. Mars has two tiny potato shaped moons called Deimos and Phobos. Rebecca

Show and Tell

For my show and tell I brought my Brownie book, my sash and my badges in to show everyone. I go to Brownies every Monday and have been going for nearly a year. I like Brownies because we play games and sometimes I win. I have badges for Brownie holiday, home skills and craft. Ellie

I brought in my robot-reptile for show and tell. I got it from my gran for my christmas. I like it because it can move. I keep it on my bed in my room. Lee

Country Dancing

We only have one more dance to learn for the Country Dance Festival next week. It is the Peebles Bus and Mrs Stewart says it will be easy for us because we know most of the parts and have done them in other dances. My favourite dance is the Prince of Orange because you and your partner keep moving and dance with lots of different people. I am looking forward to the festival and we are going in the bus. Amy

Games Morning

On Games Morning we get to play games after playtime. Sometimes mums, or dads, or grannies come to help us. I like playing Uno and using the whiteboard. I am in Team 1 with Emma, Kelly and Christopher. We only have games mornings once a month. Charlie

CLASS NEWS

Me and Ellie and our mums are going to Pizza Hut today after school before we go to see High School Musical. I am really excited. Then on Sunday I am moving house! Chanelle

My Auntie Ann came back from Florida to come on holiday to visit us and she brought me a picture of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Rachel

I am going out with my mum for the day on Sunday. It’s somewhere called the Longniddry Inn and we are going for a meal for Mothers’ Day. Leah

I am going to get a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates for my mum for Mothers’ Day. Erin

I am going to get my mum chocolates and flowers too and a little teddy that she loved. It will be my cousin’s birthday on Sunday as well. Ellie

I took my mum for a pamper session in school this morning and I gave her a hand massage with nice coconut cream. Kaitlin
