Sunshine Day

On Tuesday we had our first Sunshine Day! Our normal timetable was forgotton for the day and the whole school planned a day of fun and exciting activities!

* Here’s what P2/3 did for our sunshine day….

Jenni – On sunshine day we went to the beach. We collected shells and we threw stones in the water. It was cold. I got splashed in the water.

Erin – We went to the beach with my class and we got wet. The tide was heavy and it was freezing! I had a brilliant time.

Abby – I was collecting shells and I was throwing stones in the water and the tide got my trousers wet. I was wearing boots with frogs on them! I was having fun and the wind was cold.

Connor – I found lots of nice stones. I threw stones in the water. I enjoyed it!

In the afternoon we went outside and played team games.

* Some of us wanted to share our news with you this week.

Shawnisay – Last night my sister told me how to do joined up writing. At first it was difficult but then it got a wee bit easier.

Craig – Yesterday me and my brother went to taekwondo. We learnt self defence and we also got to run and try and kick a punch cushion. You had to try and make your foot go right up to it and Neil put the cushion to your head height!

* This week some of us brought in some fantastic things for show and tell.

Scott. C brought in a poster he made at home on his computer about Dingo’s.
Scott .C– Dingo’s hunt in packs. Dingo’s are dangerous dogs in Australia. Dingo’s are my favourite Australian dogs. My poster title is called Be Safe!
Please be careful near Dingo’s!

Connor brought in something fantastic from the past.
Connor – My Dad used to work in the cadets. My Dad gave me a gas mask. I like it so much!

* This week we are very proud of…

Scott.R who wrote a fantastic firework poem all on his own without being asked.
“Fireworks are bright.
When fireworks explode they lighten up the sky.
Rockets give a loud bang when they explode.
When cart wheels explode they shower sparks everywhere.
I like fireworks because they are light and bright”

and Amy who wrote a story about two puppets who had a fun day out. She worked very hard and wrote it all by herself with perfect fullstops! “Sasha the chic saw Pinky the cow. They went to the park. They had fun.” Well done Amy.

P2/3 want to say a huge thank you to everyone who left us comments this week! We really enjoyed reading them all.
