A short week with short tennis!
Racquets
On Tuesday we went to do some short tennis in the gym with Mr Murray. First he told and showed us how to hold the racquet.
We practised hitting the soft ball over the net to our partner. Then he set us a challenge - to see how many times we could hit it back to each other without missing the ball. My partner was Sarah and we managed five.
I really enjoyed it and Mr Murray is going to be coming back for another three weeks. Amy
Project work
This week we were finding out about Gods and Goddesses and then pyramids. Bes was the Goddess who looked after children and families and Ra was the sun god who rode in his chariot across the sky every day.
The pyramids were built by the peasants who couldn’t work on their land when the Nile flooded every year. Only Pharaohs and very important people were buried in pyramids - ordinary people were buried in the sand, lying on their side and facing west. Emma
Ancient Egyptian Facts of the Week
I found out that fly-swatters made from giraffe tails were a popular fashion item in Ancient Egypt. Lee
The preparation of a Pharaoh’s body before burial in his pyramid tomb took at least seventy days. Rebecca
Dictionary Work
Usually once a week we do dictionary work.
We have a special workbook and we have to find the words on that days page in the dictionary, write down the page number and copy what the word means.
We have to be careful to remember capital letters and full stops. I like doing dictionary and I am getting fast at finding the words. Alex
Show and Tell
For my Show and Tell I brought my two favourite soft toys - a doll called Sally and a dog called Minnie. I got them from Summerfield in Berwick when I was at my auntie’s static. Every night I play with them before I go to bed and they sleep beside me. Sarah G
I brought in some photographs of the people in High School Musical for my show and tell. I got them for my birthday from my mum. My favourite character is Sharpee. They dance on the stage. When I grow up I would like to be a dancer too. Kelly
Games Morning
We had games morning again today.
I was the winner when my team got to the pyramid game. Nearly everyone has had a shot at the pairs game on the interactive whiteboard. Rebecca has beaten her record and completed all her pairs in one minute twenty-eight seconds. Liam
Thank You
Thank you very much for leaving your comments for us. For our last blog we had a comment from Canada and two from Norway. We found out where these countries were on our globe. Our cluster map is now looking very red! Declan
