A quiet week - nearly the holidays!

At Assembly this week it was announced that our school had raised £373.60 for Comic Relief.  We also received our Kerbcraft certificates kerb-certs.jpg from Mrs Gardyne. Jonathan

On Monday, all the primary 2’s had a den building day.  First we were put at random into teams and then each team had to decide if they wanted a leader.  Leaders were chosen and then everyone made a drawing of their plans for a den.  After that, each team picked the best den drawing to try and build it outside.

Before we went out we all had to put on welly boots and waterproof jackets and trousers.  Outside lots of different materials were ready for us.  There were sticks, thicker branches, bendy willow twigs, pegs and clips, and sheets for making the roof.  Then we got started.  It was quite difficult to get our dens to stay up but we all had great fun.  If our plan didn’t work we just had to try something else. Our teacher made a book of our den building and then she showed us how to do it. book-1.jpg You have to choose a picture and then drag it into the space.  Then you have to write a sentence about the picture.   Team 1 have already made their book book-2.jpg and now they are showing Team 2 and Team 3 how to do it.  Emma

Mrs Gardner, our head teacher, came back to school on Tuesday.  She has been having an operation on her foot.  We were pleased to see her and hope her foot is getting much better.  Chloe

We wanted to tell everyone that we have our first game of football on Saturday at the Pennypit.  We are under 7’s and we are playing against under 8’s.  We will let you know how we get on after the holidays.  Dillon and Charlie

In music this week we were making a sound picture of a rain storm.  Our teacher tried to film it for the blog but the camera was not working properly.  We will try again after the holidays.  Kelly

Two of the primary 2 classes have been learning country dancing this term.  We can now dance the Prince of Orange, the Peebles Bus, the Dhoon Jig, the Flying Scotsman and the Dashing White Sargeant.  On Friday we are going to have a mini-ceilidh.  We are all going to try and wear something tartan and Mrs Gardyne is going to bring in shortbread for us.  It should be good fun!! Chanelle

We wish everyone happy holidays and we will be back blogging soon.  P2/5
