Our first slide shows - with a little help!!
This term our class has been doing Kerbcraft.
We do it every Monday with Mrs Pandit and four mums who come to help. We have been learning how to cross the road safely! We all got bright yellow hats to wear which kept us warm and meant that we could be seen.
We also had to wear hi-vis waistcoats. We went in two groups so each helper had three children and we mostly had sunny days although it was very very cold for our last time on Monday.
We would like to thank Mrs Pandit, and the mums who helped, for training us and we promise to always try and remember to cross the road safely. We are going to get our certificates at Assembly on Friday. Saffron
It was our turn to go to the library on Tuesday. The library has had a bit built on and is now much bigger. We go once every month and get to choose a book to bring back to school. Usually Erica, the librarian reads us a story. I like the new library because the children’s bit is bigger has a nice soft squashy sofa and nice bright cushions and rugs.

My favourite thing is the big round seat that two people can sit together in and look at books. Leah
Wednesday was a lovely sunny day! For storywriting we had to write a spring poem. First we had some time with a thinking partner, chatting about what happened in Spring.
Then our teacher wrote down our ideas on the whiteboard. After that we got our storywriting jotter and started to write our poems. We had to write down five things that made us think of spring.
We had a pretty page stuck into our book to write our poem on.
I enjoyed making my own poem and then drawing pictures to match it. Emma
Every three weeks we have a baking time on a Thursday afternoon. First we had to get some things from the cupboard, like a mixing bowl and some wooden spoons. Then we all had to wash our hands. Ellie had to grate some chocolate, then it was melted in a bowl over some hot water. The melted chocolate was put into a big bowl and we added the cornflakes.

We all had to help to mix it up. Then we had to get a big metal spoon and a little metal spoon. We used the big metal spoon to scoop up the cornflake mixture and the little spoon to scrape it off the big one into paper cake cases. Then we put all the cakes on to a tray and left them to get solid. Last of all we had to put all the things away we had used and wash the bowls and dry them. We got to taste the chocolate crispies before anyone else. They were quite nice. After that we took them downstairs to the classroom and everyone got to take one home. Euan
Once a month, instead of Golden Time on a Friday, we have a Games Morning. We get to play board games.
We get put into teams of three.
Mums and dads come to help. You have time on a game and then you have to change to the next game. I like the Cootie game.
You have to throw a 1 to get a body and then the other numbers get you a head, eyes, mouth, feet and a funny hat. The winner is the person who gets all the bits on their beastie. I like Games Mornings. Renee
We hope you liked our first slideshows. Our teacher had a little help from her son Alan and Mr Gilmour. If you have enjoyed our blog this week, please leave a comment as we really are interested to know what you think. Just your name and a comment will do - you do not need to have an e-mail address or a website. Thank you. Ellie

hello P2/5
wow ! super blogging ! and slideshows too ! brilliant
you are up to lots of interesting fun things and things to make us think too - like what might happen with balloons
when my son got engaged to his girlfriend in Singapore, we sent up a special balloon with a message tied to it from a hill in East Lothian and sent them the photo of the balloon climbing up into the sky
none of us thought that it might harm wildlife but now we know it can and we will send a message in a different way next time
your bit about the dancing seagull reminded me of when I once watched a seagull on the banks of the River Esk in Musselburgh trying to swallow an eel which was about 2 feet long
it took a little while but it managed it !
it fair put me off my tea though !
enjoy your blogging - I’m wondering what you are going to be up to next

hello P 2/5
what a good library you have now - I remember going to it when I was your age (a long time ago!) and it was quite dark and we had to whisper
there was no story-telling at all then
now it is a bright and happy place with lots of wonderful books
your games morning sounds great fun
enjoyed your ‘pretty page’ poems
