A little bit of everything!

At the Sharing Assembly last Friday, Dillon and I wore our football strips.  We both play for Preston Athletic. charlie1.jpg We are hoping to get sponsors so that we can have proper strips.  We train on Wednesdays in the gym hall at Preston Lodge and our coaches make us work hard.  We do juggling and keepie-uppies to get warmed up before we start our training.  I really like playing football.  Charlie

I brought some of my shell collection to the Sharing Assembly. brandon-1.jpg Some of my shells are from Australia.  My nana brought them for me.  Some of them are curly and if you hold them up to your ear you can hear the sea.  My biggest shell came from Australia and the inside is mother of pearl. brandon-2.jpg Everyone liked the big shell and I think it might be an oyster shell.  I keep my shell collection in my bedroom, and my mum and I go walks down the beach to look for new shells.  Brandon

Last Saturday I went to karate  and I got a green tag for my brown belt. shawnisay.jpg I was very happy.  Shawnisay

Our school was in the papers this week  when the eco-defenders said they did not want to have a sponsored balloon race and never to allow our school or anyone to have them.   scotsman.jpgWe decided this because bits of burst balloon could fall into the sea and kill sea animals like dolphins and turtles by choking them if they swallowed it thinking it was food.  Mrs Gardyne agreed and said she would make sure that it would be written down in our school rules that we would never ever have a balloon race. Craig

On Thursday we have a visiting music specialist.  Today we were playing the xylophoneskelly1.jpg I was sharing the big base xylophone with Chloe.  It is so big we have to kneel up to play it so that you can hit the notes.  You have two beaters to play with and you have to try and hit the key in the middle.  Sometimes it’s quite hard and you miss!  My partner and I had shots each of playing and we had to help each other. kelly-2.jpg We played two songs today, Pitter, Patter Raindrops and It’s Raining Cats and Dogs.  I like playing the xylophone because it sounds nice.  Kelly

On Thursday we also had a visit from Nicol Stewartson from The Forth Estuary Forum.  He came to tell us about how we can help keep the beach clean. chloe-1.jpg Nicol told us that a glass bottle will last on the beach for more than a million years and that a plastic bottle will still be there after ten million years!!  He told us lots of other interesting things  and brought us lots of information and posters.  After the Easter holidays we are going to do a beach clean-up with the other primary twos and Nicol is going to come back to help us.  Chloe

Friday 16th is Red Nose Day.  On Wednesday we made posters.  poster-2.jpg On    class.jpgComic Relief day lots of children and teachers got dressed up.  They had to wear something red or ready for bed.  People who got dressed up had to bring £1.  This went to Comic Relief who help children in our country and in Africa. a-h.jpg The teachers who got dressed up looked very funny!!  Josh

Glad you all enjoyed comic relief, red nose day!! One question though, Who had the most fun the children or the teachers?? I think the teachers!
