This is a service you can use when you need help and the opportunity to talk (in confidence).
A counsellor is someone who will listen without judging. This is done through offering listening and support so that you can begin to make sense of difficult and confused feelings.
Each session will last for one school period taking place once weekly.
The issues that you might want to talk to a counsellor about could be:
- Anger
- Bereavement / Loss
- Family
- Feelings of hurt and rejection
- Poor self-image / low esteem
- Relationships / friendships
Confidentiality
Everything that is said in the counselling room is confidential; the only exception to this is anything which breaks Child Protection Guidelines such as harm to yourself or others.
You can get more information on this service by asking your guidance teacher or contacting Hilary Kennell who is your school counsellor. hkennell@prestonlodge.elcschool.org.uk
