‘On-Our-Doorstep’ cook club held the competition final last night, with fourteen S2 pupils competing. They worked exceptionally hard during the 1 hour 30 minutes allocated to them to produce an exceptionally high standard of finished dish.
They were complimented by the 6 external judges who are all local produce suppliers from within East Lothian.

They were interested to talk to pupils about their knowledge of local history events of national significance ie The Battle of Prestonpans.

This week as we look to celebrate the birthday of the national bard, Robert Burns, the ELP pupils have chosen to read and discuss a poem called Black Gold. This poem was written by Prestoungrange Poet Laureate, John Lindsay, to mark Burn’s Night 2006.

It was open to any S2/3 pupils to participate. Almost 30 registered with between 20 - 26 turning up each week.
