House Identities and Competitions

You may remember the competition we launched a few weeks ago, asking for designs for logos for each of the 3 houses. Well, after getting a ‘relatively impressive’ 4 entries, we struck gold with these designs: (you can click on them to enlarge and improve the quality)

All of the designs have links to the local community:

  • Gosford - a tree - as in the Gosford Woods in the Gosford Estate in Longniddry
  • Seton - a boat - as in Port Seton harbour and its links with trading history
  • Grange - a train - as in the Prestongrange rail network and the mining history

Thanks go to Emma Rollo of 6 Gosford for these masterpieces.

You might also have noticed coloured nameplates appearing on your classroom door (register classes). This is all part of the on going effort of the 6th year house captains to promote house identities and re-introduce house points. So, expect one of these logos turning up on your door soon! Teachers who don’t have register classes will also be placed in houses to promote house spirit and competition across the board.

Current House Points standing:

Gosford: 3 points

Seton: 6 points

Grange: 1 point
