Want to learn to paddle a kayak?
Looking for an activity for your Duke of Edinburgh award?
Why not try kayaking in the comfort of Prestonpans swimming pool.
Beginners lessons are offered in blocks of 5 (1 a week) and take place on a Friday afternoon (12:15 - 1:15)
Cost - Only £10 for the 5 lessons (£2 each!)
We have 3 blocks of lessons available between now and the summer holidays and places are now filling up fast due to the heavily subsidised cost.
See Mr Kiernan, Mr Frost or Mr Kidd for a letter ASAP!

Confident Sliding, Responsible footprint, Successful navigation, Effective ice axe braking…
A fantastic opportunity for pupils with experience of walking the hills in summer, a chance to extend their mountain experience and tackle some winter hills under expert supervision.
Pupils will be stay in bunkhouse accommodation in the Cairngorm National Park and undertake winter hill walking learning how to use specialist safety equipment including crampons and ice axes.
A maximum of 12 places are available on this course for all pupils in East Lothian.
The 2 day course will be from 2pm, Friday 19th March to 7pm, Sunday 21st March
Pupils will be required to contribute towards instruction, food, transport and accommodation at a (subsidised) cost of just £80

Pupils who are taking part in the above event, are to meet in Mr Kidd’s room at 1.10pm on Wednesday 10th Feb. It may be better to bring a packed lunch that day to avoid any rush. On Wednesday, bring warm outdoor clothing to change into. There is a good chance you will get dirty. You can wear trainers if the weather is good, but it is advisable to wear walking boots - the school can provide if required. The minibus will be back at the school no later than 4pm. Please insure any outstanding parental consent forms are returned ASAP. No form - No trip! Any questions/problems see Mr Kidd.

In aid of the Haiti Diaster Appeal, S6 will be selling flowers and chocolates which you can buy for your Valentine! (cost £2-£5). They will take orders in the foyer from Monday 8 February to Thursday 11 Feburary and these will be delivered to the register classes on Friday 12 February.
Friday 12 February will aslo be a dress down day, £1 payable if you wish to dress down.
