East Lothian Multisports fun!

Today our ELP pupils enjoyed a trip to Meadowmill to take part in an East Lothian multisports event attended by all the local secondary schools. The pupils had a fabulous time trying out four very different sports and were thoroughly exhausted (but happy) afterwards.

The four sports the children enjoyed were

archery
curling
carpet bowls
boules

A tin of tartan paint sir…

We have all heard the old story about apprentices being sent by their bosses to get long stands or tins of tartan paint - but the ELP pupils could have done with that very thing in the last week, as they have looked into Scottish clans and their tartans!

ELP Poem of the Week…

Each week we will stop for ten minutes to listen to a poem. We will do this in our Beanbag Corner when we have our quiet High Five (minutes!).
From week to week the children will each choose the verse to be read and we will pop it on the website so that parents can read [...]

The Number 124 Bus

The pupils have been rehearsing their performance of a short and sweet play about East Lothian called “The 124 Bus”.
The children devised the script, setting and roles themselves - creating a 3 minute invitation to enjoy the sites of East Lothian with them.
In ICT lessons they searched for images of East Lothian to be used [...]

What factors are involved in this?

Can we remember what we learned about animals having a “habitat”? Are plants the same?

This week on the ELP programme we will be spending a lot of time doing things outside and making things with our hands!
Next week is On our Doorstep week and everyone in S1 is busy preparing things for our school Open Afternoon. We are no different, as we add the finishing touches to our maps, [...]

Week beginning May 5th 2008…

This week sees the school closed to pupils on Monday and Tuesday. Monday is the annual early May Bank Holiday and Tuesday is an inservice day (although the poor S4 pupils will be on site sitting their Standard Grade English final exam).
