Email is such an important part of school life for most children. Whether they are simply sending a friendly mail to their best pal or using it to access a log-in to an educational website, the school email system underpins so much of school life for the pupils of Preston Lodge.
The pupils on the Enhanced Learning Provision are no different - and it is one of the key targets of our ICT program that they be able, with time, to use the email system in a more independent fashion.
To that end we have a number of lessons promoting the use of email and associated skills - on this page you will find a link to the initial lesson involved. In this lesson we thought about different kinds of communication, their pros and cons - and why email is used by so many people these days. We then move on to practical demonstrations and tasks that allowed the children the chance to explore email for themselves, supported and scaffolded by staff and specialist resources.
