PLHS - Support for Learning

Under our Enhanced Learning Provision, ICT is taught as a discreet group option. A small number of S1 and S2 pupils involved in our ELP program undertake their ICT lessons in the care of SfL teachers, Jillian Binnie and John Samuel with input from the school Computing department.

Lessons are taught in the Computing department suites and follow a program that links into the overall ELP umbrella theme of “The River Forth and East Lothian”.

Areas of study this autumn include :

• The keyboard
• Email
• The internet
• Search engines

All of these topic areas are related directly to the River Forth and our own local environment. Worksheets and resources are tailored to refer directly to our own lives and experiences in East Lothian.

The children will undertake a number of exciting tasks over the year including making their own leaflet on East Lothian, filming and presenting an IT video on Prestonpans and helping with input to these very pages!
