Preston Lodge S1 boys, s1 girls and S2 boys attended a regional basketball tournament at Ross High School on Friday. Preston lodge managed to get three teams out which was the most in the regional tournament. Only an s2 girls side was missing but hopefully we can manage a clean sweep when the next tournament comes round on Friday 8th February.
Ross High S1 boys & S2 boys were the first team up on two different courts. The s1 boys started off really well and kept it going beating Ross High in their first game. The S2 boys struggled in their first game due to continual fouling but the put it right in their next game against S1 Preston Lodge team beating the by 2 points. This put Ross High Preston Lodge S1 & S2 Boys all on the same points
The S1 girls played Musselburgh in their first game and done really well. The game was very competitive as both team kept taking the lead by two points. By half-time Preston Lodge had taken a 6point lead but this was to prove an insignificant cushion as Musselburgh came back into the game and leading by 2 points with 1minute to go. Preston Lodge kept the pressure on by using the fast break but could not score. Chelsea Anderson ended up being the hero of the day scoring the winning basket with less that 10 seconds to go.
All Preston Lodge teams done well and also behaved well and were a credit to the school.
The S1 Boys & S1 Girls won their respective tournaments with the S2 boys coming second in their tournament.
This is a good build-up for the tournaments next week and hopefully we can do just as well against all the East Lothian Sides.
