The Preston Lodge team consited of 7 girls and 1 boy and they were shocked to find out that they were playing a team that consisted of 8 boys who looked a lot older than S2 and a lot stronger than the Preston Lodge team.The Preston Lodge team spirit was low and this played into Leith’s hands as they started the game quicker than the Preston Lodge team and took a 1-0 lead. Preston Lodge regrouped and found a goal to make the score 1-1 at half-time.
After a half-time team talk from Mrs Christie the team were in better spirits and soon found themselves in a comfortable lead at 4-2. Leith stepped their game up and were continually attacking and got themselves back to 4-3. A nervy last 5 minutes for Preston Lodge found them continually defending and they could not hold on as Leith scored in the final minutes to make the final score 4-4.
PL should be very prod of their efforts to draw with a team which were stronger. Well Done PL
