S3 had the chance to visit Edinburgh Castle to explore how it was used during World War One.
Pupils learnt what it would be like to be a soldier in the Scottish Regiments and what it would feel like to be involved in trench warfare.

On Monday 26th 2008 the education officer from East Lothian, Sarah Cowie, came into school to work with S1C.
The class enjoyed handling artifacts and guessing their uses. They had a great time!

To consolidate our learning after completing an Islam unit 30 first year pupils had the opportunity to attend an exclusive showing of Persepolis at the Cameo Picture House on Lothian Road.
The film explored how the central character faced the challenge of growing up in Iran and
the challenges she faced moving to the West as a Muslim. You can see pictures of our excursion if you click the link below

Since being posted on YouTube in December 2006 this 7 minute video has been viewed more than 56000 times, by people all around the world.
