As a newly resigned member of the Parent Council (I’ve been on 2 for the last year), I’d just like to say what a worthwhile experience it has been and I’d like to encourage as many parents as possible to get involved with the Parent Council, to express views and offer time / expertise / enthusiasm to the school and support the children whichever way you can. The PTA do a fantastic job but are always looking for help for events, the Parent Council need to hear your views from a parent’s perspective and will need additional help from time to time. New members are able to stand for the PC each year at the AGM in June, and of course, the school loves to have a bank of parental helpers and supporters covering all the years, from Nursery to P7.
Parent Council’s have taken the place of School Boards, in a new and exciting way - I wish I could continue with both schools as it has been a terrific experience, but ‘it’s not good to be greedy’. Congratulations and good luck to this year’s new members of the PC and to those continuing.
