Jolly Hockey Sticks!

Cole Wins Competition!
Cole in P4 has won the competition to design a reflective outfit to be worn near roads and to be seen by road users.

Viking Longboats
Primary 3/4 and P4 have been very busy over the last few weeks building Viking Longboats. Everyone had fun making them and enjoyed designing their own shields and sails.

P4 Start Swimming

During our reading lessons we each have a role to play. We can be the leader, the clarifyer, the questioner, the predictor, the summariser or a reader. How do we feel about that?

P.4 Gallery of prints
We were pleased with our prints! Using polystyrene blocks and a sharp pencil each person designed a picture. The Vikings have been and gone!
We have just fininshed learning about the Vikings. We discovered that they were great craftsmen and decided to try our hand at some of their skills! We carved messages, in “runes”, into soap . We made brooches and pots from clay and built model longboats - some were more seaworthy than others!

P.4 Poetry winners
After having practised reciting Scottish poems, 5 finalists were chosen to recite their poems to Miss Dury who used to teach in our school! Caitlin, Johnny, Erin, Antonia and Robert did really well. Miss Dury had a difficult job to choose 3 winners who each received a certificate.

P4 Elections
During our class assembly we held a mock election. Four parties, “The Green Beans”, “Eco Warriors”, “Pencaitland Gold Hands” and “The PFFRP Party”, shared their manifestos on how to make Pencaitland a happier place to live in. Rockpool Rumble
P4 are learning about invertebrates. On Monday 1st of October we had a trip to Longniddry beach. Roger the ranger split us into groups and asked us to find as much sea life in the rock pools as possible. We found lots and lots, even a blue rayed limpet!!
