P4 Start Swimming

P4 started swimming on Wednesday - it was really fun.  We were taught by a teacher named Mrs Anderson. She looked at everyone swimming and then we where off.  We did running in water, blowing bubbles through our mouth and nose under water and we also tried to lie down in the water.  We all [...]

Leading Roles

During our reading lessons we each have a role to play. We can be the leader, the clarifyer, the questioner, the predictor, the summariser or a reader. How do we feel about that?

The Vikings have been and gone!

We have just fininshed learning about the Vikings. We discovered that they were great craftsmen and decided to try our hand at some of their skills! We carved messages, in “runes”, into soap . We made brooches and pots from clay and built model longboats - some were more seaworthy than others!
Can you work out [...]

P.4 Poetry winners

After having practised reciting Scottish poems, 5 finalists were chosen to recite their  poems to Miss Dury who used to teach in our school! Caitlin, Johnny, Erin, Antonia and Robert did really well. Miss Dury had a difficult job to choose 3 winners who each received a  certificate.

P4 Elections

During our class assembly we held a mock election. Four parties, “The Green Beans”, “Eco Warriors”, “Pencaitland Gold Hands” and “The PFFRP Party”, shared their manifestos on how to make Pencaitland a happier place to live in. All parties had super ideas such as creating an area specifically for motorbikes, a skateboarding park, a huge [...]
