Never mind the World Twenty20 Cup - Pencaitland’s been the place to be for exciting Cricket for the last 6 weeks as several P3/4s and P4s joined in the Cricket After School Club.

Pencils R Us

Yesterday, Pencils R Us, the P3/4 stationery shop opened ‘its doors’ for the penultimate time this session. We have all had a lot of fun, taking on responsibility for stock control, selling, counting the money and crowd control (a very important role at busy times!)

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside

Today P3/4 and P4 spent a fun-packed day at the beach. First of all we went rock-pooling to Yellowcraig beach where we found a lot of sea creatures. We then had lunch on the beach in North Berwick and spent the afternoon in the Seabird Centre where we learned all about puffins.

Sharing Experiences

On Friday, P3/4 shared their Outdoor Journey experiences with the upper school. We also had a visit from a number of people from Edinburgh University who were interested in finding out what we had been up to.

The Great Egg Race 2009

A Star Performance!

This afternoon the P3/4s and P4s presented their Easter show ‘Here Comes Jesus’ to the parents, brothers and sisters, grannies, grandpa’s, aunts, uncles and friends. It was a great success. Everyone worked really hard and this showed through the fantastic acting and singing. Well done everyone!

Here Comes Jesus!

Primary 3/4 and Primary 4 treated the rest of the school (including the Nursery) to the dress rehearsal of their Easter show “Here Comes Jesus”.  We will be performing the show for parents of P3/4 & P4 on Wednesday afternoon at 2:15pm.

Once upon a time….

Today P3/4 were fortunate enough to work with Shonagh Davidson, a drama specialist, on a traditional story about the giant. Everyone enjoyed taking on different roles and discussing how the giant could deal with a number of problems in his life.

Outdoor Education with P3/4 and P4

Outdoor Journeys with P3/4

Today we started a very exciting project - Outdoor Journeys. We talked about journeys before going out into the snow to look at natual and manmade things. We were joined by Simon and Mrs Murray from Edinburgh University. We’re really looking forward to our next session in two weeks!

A wee bit o’ Burns

This afternoon, P3/4 and P4 had their Burns Supper rehearsal which was performed to the whole school. We are very much looking forward to the evening performance tonight. We will keep you posted on our success and will let know how much we raise for charity.

Visit to Celtic Connections in Glasgow

On Monday P3/4 and P4 got their Burns week off to a flying start with a visit to Glasgow Concert Hall for the Celtic Connections concert. This is part of the launch of the Homecoming Scotland programme and is also the start of a very busy week for both classes.

Pencils R Us Opens Its Doors

On Tuesday afternoon the P3/4 stationary shop, Pencils R Us, opened its doors to the first customers - P4. We are looking forward to selling our stationery to the other classes soon and will keep you updated on our progress.

Party Fun

Primaries 2/3 and 3/4 had a joint Christmas party today and we had lots of fun, dancing and playing games

Packed Out Dance

P3/4 were very lucky today to have a dance session with the East Lothian dance specialist Beth Noble. As you can see from the photos we had lots of fun. Read the comments to find out what we did.

P3/4 Assembly
