First Week Back For P6

On our first week back we did a really big quiz on the Olympics.  We had the laptops twice this week soo we could try and find out the answers to the thirty questions.  We worked together as a class to find out all the answers from the internet. The picture questions were the hardest.  As we got [...]

Footie Finals

The football team were back at HTC this morning, minus the P7’s who were at the Ross High induction day.We were up against some very good teams (some of whom still had their P7s available).  Our first match was against Loretto.  Our boys played some scintillating football and showed great determination in coming back from a goal deficit to [...]

Footie Festival at Hibs Training Centre

Today some of the P6/7 boys attended a football session at the new Hibernian Training Centre just outside Ormiston. The boys were very impressed with the facilities.  Between games they had a coaching session from one of the Hibs training staff - which they thoroughly enjoyed. As to the competition itself, we were drawn in a group [...]

Fun, Laughter and Lots of Mud

On Thursday 10 April 2008, Primary 6 had an fun-packed Outdoor Education Day taken by Bill Stephen.   The weather was cold, and mostly dry but underfoot, muddy.
Sticky Feet
When Bill wants to round us all up, he calls out ‘Sticky Feet!’  We all have to run and form a circle and put our feet together, then [...]

Life in Primary 6 Report

Yesterday, we wrote reports for the primary 5 class about life in Primary 6. We told them all about the changes they will come across - wearing a different colour of jumper, working on the tuckshop etc. We also wrote about the topics that will be new for them. We hope that [...]

P5/6/7 Craft Club

It is now week two of Craft Club and this week we have been painting flower pots to sell at the Spring Fayre. It is fun but you need to be really careful not to smash them (unlike Miss Muir who managed to smash three before craft club started!)

Last week, we made dream catchers which [...]

EU Monopoly

Last term, our topic was the European Union and we learned all about the member countries. We have been set a challenge - to design and make an EU Monopoly game.

Here are some of our thoughts so far:
“We’re really glad that we were asked to do this activity because it has been great fun [...]

P6/7 Football - Douglas Allen Cup

Pencaitland Football Team put on a tremendous showing at the competition at Meadowmill Sports Centre this afternoon.  The team played some lovely football to beat both St Gabriels and Whitecraigs, however they went down in a closely fought thriller against the eventual winners of the group, Wallyford. The team narrowly missed out on the chance [...]

Don’t Miss Baboushka!

Wear it Pink

Today we all had a pink day.  Everybody either dyed their hair pink or wore pink.  Primary 6 were given the responsibility for the day.  There were jobs for everyone.  6 people took photographs, 6 people stood in-front of the school and told everyone about the breast cancer campaign, 6 people collected the donations and [...]

The Spider Party

Today Primary 6 went along to visit P1/2 and listened to their spider stories. P1/2 did really well creating their own spider booklets. It was a few pages long and had a handmade spider character hanging from the cover. There were loads of bright pictures inside and we liked trying to [...]
