Barcelona Watch Out ! Pencaitland Are About !!
Despite the rather inclement weather recently, the football match between St Gabriels and Pencaitland managed to go ahead. The team were forced into a couple of last minute changes and had no substitutes either as illness struck the squad. However, despite all the players having to play the whole game, Pencaitland managed to record a [...]

P6/7 Enjoy Football Afternoon
With the busy football calendar in full swing and the recent inclement weather it was decided to fit in a small mini-competition with Pencaitland, Kings Meadow and Ormiston which would hopefully go some way to easing the fixture congestion ! Unfortunately we have no pictures to show since the class camera was unavailable!
However the boys [...]

Because it’s there.
Today P7 were writing dramatic stories about the final days of George Mallory, one of the first British people to attempt to climb Mount Everest. Mallory and his companion, Irvine, both disappeared, and Mallory’s body was discovered by a climber more than 60 years later. The descriptive writing and imagery from P7 was fantastic, and [...]

Pencaitland Primary Football Does It Again
Last Friday there was a local derby, with Pencaitland hosting our near neighbours Ormiston. Things were looking bleak when Ormiston took a 2-0 half time lead. However Pencaitland came roaring back to snatch victory in the second half. It was almost like watching Barcelona !!!

Our Final Day
Well it was our final full day at camp today and we thought we had escaped the worst of the weather. However it was not to be and we had a steady downpour all day. But it didn’t dampen our spirits at all. We have been crawling through mud (complete with mud warpaint), shooting each other [...]

Chick cosys !
Today P7 went cuckoo making chick egg cosys!
We used the skills we learned during make do and mend (one of our ww2 projects before Christmas) to sew pieces of chick shaped felt and feathers together. We also added wings and googly eyes to complete our egg cosys. We really enjoyed making the cosys, though at [...]

Guitar Hero!!!
P7 have started their Guitar Hero project. Although we think it’s amazing to be able to play the game in school, the project isn’t just about playing the game. Lots of schools in East Lothian are doing the project to help us transition into high school.
So far we have mind mapped our ideas for how [...]

Be Bright Be Seen
As it is getting nearer Winter, it is getting darker earlier in the evenings. Be careful when you go out in the dark and always carry a torch, when walking through dark spots. If you are playing out in the dark make sure you get back, before it gets too dark. If it is possible [...]

Remembrance Poems.
P7 spent time on Remembrance day, remembering all the lost soldiers and writing Remembrance Day poetry. Once we had shared our ideas and listened to some famous poems we got to work writing our own.
We then worked together to make a huge class display of our poems.
This is an example of our work, with a [...]
