It is difficult for birds to find food during the winter months.  Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 decided to help by making bird seed feeders. On Wednesday afternoon and evening the infant department performed their nativity play.  The children worked really hard to learn their lines and the song words.  Everyone was fantastic - well done!

On Friday P1 and P1/2 had their Christmas party.  We played musical statues, pass the parcel, danced the Flying Scotsman and had some party food.  At the end of the party we sang ‘ Jingle Bells’ and we got a lovely surprise when Santa paid us a visit!

P1/2 were fortunate (along with some other classes) to have a karate taster session today.  We learned a variety of new moves and had lots of fun.   Look how high we can kick!

Today, we were very lucky to have a taster judo session. We felt really special wearing the judo jackets and really enjoyed learning some new moves. Some of us may even join the local judo club.

This week the Primary 1 children will be spending the whole morning in class. A huge thank you to the Primary 2 children who have been so welcoming and a huge support to all the new Primary 1s.

P1/2 did a project about healthy eating.  We invited our parents into to visit our Healthy Cafe.  We prepared vegetables, dip and a fruit salad.  We showed our parents a power point about our project and then we sang the song [...]

On the 6th Feb, P1 had a healthy cafe for all our parents and carers. We voted to decide on a name, and the name with the most votes was “the Dragon Princess Cafe”.  We had to choose a menu, make a shopping list and go and  buy the food from the Spar shop. Then [...]

P1/2 designed their own tartans and learned the poem Twa Leggit Mice which they performed at the Scottish Assembly.  It was a very funny poem and lots of people laughed.  The twa leggit mice were really children.  The children designed their tartans using paint and drew pictures of children wearing kilts.

Last Wednesday parents and friends were treated to a wonderful nativity play, ‘Born in a Barn’ performed by P1, P1/2 and P2/3 classes.  The songs were incredibly catchy and the audiences were singing along.  Well done to all the children who took part.  Don’t we look great in our costumes?

Primary 1/2 are studyng mini-beasts and what better place to find them  than n the local woods.  They were helped by a parent and the local ranger.  It was great fun.
