On Monday morning we did some spelling. The frogs group did plurals of words ending in f or fe and the crocodile group got the suffixes hood or ship. After spelling we did hockey down in the hall. We kept practising our hockey skills. After break we had our milk and story. Then some of us went to brass while the remaining people did independent activities or went into the active area. At hymn practice we tried two new songs for Fridays assembly. After hymn practice we carried on looking at air resistance and we started making hot air balloons. We had to use a template to cut out 8 pieces of tissue paper and stick them all together to make a balloon shape. We strengthened the hole at the bottom with a bendy straw.

On Tuesday morning we went to the book fair for parents evening and got a chance to look at some of the books. Then we did French with Mrs McBean. In French we were learning to count to ten in French. After break we played a maths game on our tables where all had cards and we had to work the answers out. we set a new class record for getting the sums done. the triangles group did some money problems, the circles carried on doing decimals and the hexagons got to draw pirate maps to practice their coordinates. Then we did our writing plan for tomorrow. At P.E we did more hockey with Mrs Jones.

On Wednesday morning we did writing about our earliest memory. It was a lot easier if we had done our plan properly. Then we had music where we practiced our recorder with Mrs McDonald. We even put on a show for Mr Cain who came in to watch. After break we did maths again and then finished our writing. After lunch we finished and tested our hot air balloon that we started on Monday. We used a hairdryer to fill them up and they shot into the air and then slowly back down again. We learnewd how this happened from Mr Cain.

On Thursday morning we watched a video on the BIG BANG!!! This is what the scientists think cause the universe to be created. We talked how this way was different from how the different religions think it happened. We made posters about how we could help the planet. Then we had our milk and story (we are getting near the end of the Hobbit and the big battle). Then after break we did hockey skills with Fiona. we learned how to chip the ball past the other players stick and we got to play a fun game to practice what we had learned. Hopefully we will be ready for the tournament at Ross High after the holidays. Then we did our group reading and others did their accelerated reading books. After lunch Shonagh came in to do drama we pretended we were on a ship sailing from West Indies to Scotland a long time ago. It was a real story about a 16 year boy coming home to meet his dad for the first time. I (James) got to be the ships captain and I (Caitlin) got to be the ships cook. The story has not finished yet and we will do more next week when Shonagh comes back.

On Friday morning we had our assembly about harvest. Then we did our spelling and mental maths for the week. We did not have much time left but we started our art anyway. We started to make tissue paper kites. after break George told the class an update from the pupil council meeting. Then it was class responsibility time and finally it will be golden time yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
