Pencaitland Impressionists

Primary 5 children have been learning about impressionism and visited the National Gallery of Scotland on Thursday to find out more about French Impressionists.  In the afternoon they had a landscape workshop.  What do you think of the results?  Are we better than Claude Monet?

Roman Mosaics

Primary 2/3 have been learning about the Romans in class.  We looked at the mosaic floors in roman villas and produced our own designs.  We hope you like them!

Let’s go down to the woods……

Primary 1/2 are studyng mini-beasts and what better place to find them  than n the local woods.  They were helped by a parent and the local ranger.  It was great fun.

Jolly Hockey Sticks!

To complement Mrs Jones’ hockey lessons, Primary 4 have had their own mini-tournament. After a very closely fought contest, our winners are shown below.  Well played everyone!

Cole Wins Competition!

Cole in P4 has won the competition to design a reflective outfit to be worn near roads and to be seen by road users.

Primary 7 have been learning about WW2!!!

Primary 7 have been learning about world war 2. We have watched three short programmes about a family getting evacuated and a documentary about people who lived in the war. P7 brought in lots of things from the war.

Viking Longboats

Primary 3/4 and P4 have been very busy over the last few weeks building Viking Longboats. Everyone had fun making them and enjoyed designing their own shields and sails.

Clean Up the World Weekend

Calum and Lewis, the P7 Class Reps, realised it was Clean Up the World Weekend and asked the Eco Reps to organize an event. Active Learning in the Upper Area

On Monday moring we continued our pinball machine paintings by scraping the black paint off into shapes of circles and it looked really effective.
