St Andrew’s Day Assembly
P2/3 presented a St Andrew’s Day Assembly to Infant classes and parents. The children shared their knowledge of St Andrew and Scottish customs, and recited a verse of ‘To a Mouse’ by Robert Burns. Stretching and snapping!

Filtering
Our project on solids, liquids and gases continued today with more experiments. We discovered how to use a filter to separate solids from liquids. We mixed flour with water to make a cloudy ’suspension’ which we thought looked like a banana milkshake. Mr Cain challenged us to produce clear water from this milky white liquid! [...]

Today we discovered that we can sometimes separate mixtures by using a sieve. This only works when the mixture contains solids of different sizes.
