Creepy Crawlies
Lesson 15 - 31/01/2007
We made ourselves magicians today! We designed our own small beasties or animals and cut them out of card before taping a small paperclip underneath. We could then put our cut-outs on another piece of card with a magnet underneath. By moving the magnet our creepy crawlie moved on its own - just like magic. Mr Cain got us to put extra layers of card inbetween the magnet and our beastie and if we used a lot the magnet stopped working. Spoilsport!

Designing the creepy crawlies was great fun Lois
It was tricky to cut out the small animals Isla
We joined our animals onto one piece of paper and had a dance. Ben, Nicole & Rachel
I guessed that putting in more paper would block the magnet Alexander

Hello Year 3!
We really enjoyed reading about the creepy crawlies you had made. It must have been funny watching them dance!
We learnt about pneumatics (making things move using air) and made some moving monsters. We used cearal boxes and cut a hole in the back, stuck a balloon through and when you blew it up the mouth of the monster opened!
