This year we will be focusing on our new project with the BBC. Every Tuesday Mr Boothman (Clare Boothman’s dad) will be coming in to the school to teach us more about the BBC. We will also be visiting the BBC studio in Edinburgh. When we visit the BBC we will get to watch a live television broadcast called Hollyrood Live. Itis presented by Catriona Renton, who will be speaking to us about her job. We will then be visited by camera men and women, television reporters, presenters and many more. By the end of March we will have made a television report, radio report and a story on the internet.
We will keep you informed on our progress, so keep visiting our website to find out more.

Last week of term… what would you like to be doing? Well on Monday 15th December 7P are off to find out about the art of pizza making. They will visit Domino Pizza in Musselburgh to learn about the whole process from firing up the oven, to making dough and inventing their own topping combinations. What’s your favourite ham and pineapple, tuna and banana?
Have fun 7P and save us a slice.

Well done to everyone in P7 and their contributions to our Community Project. The first stage of this project was rounded off with a very successful evening of presentations and sharing with family and friends. However, it doesn’t end there. P7 want to have a positive impact on their wider community. They have discussed ideas put forward by parents, friends and pupils and have decided that they wish to develop their green fingered skills. We have a few volunteers who would like to support the pupils but any expertise or volunteers would be welcomed.
Our main topic between now and Christmas will be World War II. Every pupil has been involved in the planning of the project. The main focus of the topic will be the impact WWII had on the Homefront in Scotland and the UK. We are looking for artefacts, memories and photographs to develop the community element of the project. If you can help or contribute please let us know.
Then there is the BBC project! Hmm, what has Mrs Parkin got us involved in now? The pupils will use their WWII research and evidence to produce a variety of media presentations that will be part of a national BBC project. These will go live in March. More details and progress reports to follow…
That should keep us busy!
