How many Qualifications do you need to be in the R.A.F?

  1. If you have no qualifications you can still be in the RAF Regiment, who are soldiers employed to defend the Royal Air Force on the ground.  However many of the jobs in the RAF are highly skilled, such a being a doctor or an engineer, and you often need to have a degree.  If the Royal Air Force think that you are the right sort of person they will sometimes pay while you get your degree.

Is the F-16 falcon the best fighter today?

  1. It is hard to say which is the best fighter.  Do you choose which is the fastest, the one that can turn the most quickly or the one that can carry the most weapons?  You also have to think about which is the most expensive to buy and run.  I personally think that the Eurofighter Typhoon is a very good fighter.  The only way to really tell which is the best fighter is when there is a war with another country which has nearly as good fighters, and thankfully there are not any wars like that at the moment.

Why is the red Arrow an English show jet?

  1. A lot of air forces have display teams to show people how good their flying is.  It helps to encourage people to join,  and shows everyone in the country who pays for the air force, everyone who pays taxes, that they are not wasting their money.  The Red Arrows is the display team of the Royal Air Force so it is a British display team and not just an English one.  The aeroplanes they use are BAE Hawks.

Why is the SR-71A the fastest jet?

  1. The Blackbird, as it was also known, could fly at Mach 3.2 or over three times the speed of sound.  It did this by being very streamlined.  Streamlined means it is a very smooth pointy shape so that the air flows round it easily and slows it down as little as possible.  It also flew very high so there was less air to slow it down.  The engines were very powerful which also helped.  It was designed to fly high and fast because it was a spy aeroplane and the Americans who owned it wanted to be able to go places and spy on people without them ever knowing.

Why are jets used for war?

  1. Propeller aeroplanes cannot go much faster than 500 miles an hour, if you want to go much faster than that you need a jet or a rocket.  Rockets are expensive compared to jets and more difficult to control.  When you are flying in a war you want to go as fast as you can as this makes it difficult to shoot you down.  Jets help you to do this.

I hope this helps.

There are many many different breeds of dogs, from pedigree breeds to cross-breeds. Each and every breed is different and suited to different homes and owners. • It can be difficult to tell when a dog is pregnant, her tummy may swell, she may produce milk and she might make a nest in her bedding. The only way to be sure, however, is to take the dog to the vet, who can confirm the pregnancy.
  • When puppies are first born, they feed from their mother’s milk. When they get a little older, they will eat four small meals a day. Their stomachs are too small to cope with large amounts. In full adulthood, a dog should eat 2 meals a day. This can be dry or wet dog food.
  • Dogs can see in colour! However, a dog’s most powerful sense is his sense of smell; their eyesight is not as good as a human’s eyesight.
  • A dog’s lungs work in the same way as a human’s lungs.

How many trophies have you won?
I started horse riding when I was 2 and won my first trophy when I was 8. I rode ponies and horses in competitions until I was 19 and won about 100 trophies.

What makes a better compettition horse a male or a female?
It can vary. Female horses tend to be less predictable. On a good day they are probably better but on a bad day are worse. For this reason many people prefer male horses as they know how they will behave.

What does it feel like to compete in front of loads of people?
I found that I was not nervous competing in front of loads of people. When you are competing there are so many things to think about that you do not have time to worry about people watching. I found that I rode better and the horse performed better if you are both relaxed. Horses are very good at knowing what mood you are in and do best when you are happy and relaxed.

How much experience do you have?
I rode ponies and horses from when I was 2 until I was 19 and competed at many levels of competition. I was in my pony club team for tetrathlon (running, swimming, shooting and running), showjumping, dressage and eventing and our pony club team qualified for the national championships (whole of the UK and Ireland) in all these competitions. I also completed in British Horse Society competitions, mostly in eventing, and did this up to an Intermediate level (which is the highest level of eventing that is done in Scotland). The biggest competition I did in eventing was the Blair Castle International 3 day event.

Have you ever fallen off a horse?
I have fallen off a lot of horses, some more often than others. Mostly this was an accident either by me or the horse.
One young horse I had used to try to throw me off though, and that was a bit more scary because I did not know when the horse was going to do it.How many trophies have you won?
