P4J have been working very hard this term. They have planned and designed  Roman Gladiators and Roman Amphitheatres and then they used their designs to make them into models. We have just had a weeks visit from the Fire Brigade, who highlighted different aspects of fire safety. P4J really enjoyed the hands on experience of the fire engine apparatus and enjoyed climbing inside the fire engine and trying on the helmets and oxygen masks. Their problem solving task for two weeks following our coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer was to design and make a charity box, which had a money slit and could stand. P4 started off the the new term with a coffee morning in aid of Cancer Relief. A big thank you to those who sent in cakes. We sold the remainder of the cake the next day to the children. All the cakes were sold. The chocolate cake was very popular!

P4J and P4R will be visiting various churches in the local area on Nov 6th as part of our RME topic.

Homework will still be given out on a Monday. It is due in on a Thursday.

Mrs Mac’s reading group should bring in their reading every day.

Fantastic Mr Foxes and The Magic Fingers reading days are still Tuesday and Thursday.

P.E is now on a Wednesday.

Children from all classes enjoyed making a bracelet in Special Golden Time. Many children used the same colours. All the children helped each other, even when the beads fell onto the floor! Here are pictures to show you what we made.

P4J have settled really well into their new school. They are working really hard and trying to follow the school rules. They have already experienced being successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens on many occasions. Keep this up 4J, I am very proud of you all! Some examples of our success have been winning the jewels, building towers in problem solving, paricipating in karate, helping to bath a baby to help us write our instructions in writing( actually we used a soft toy cat!) creating food display posters in groups which show how food and water is important in order to help keep our bodies healthy, a timeline to show the events which happened in the time of the Romans and designing Roman mosaics and Gorgon Heads. I will have a few pictures to show you soon which will help you have a better idea of what P4J have been getting up to!

Homework is given out on a Monday and should be in on a Thursday. Please can you sign all homework on the homework outline page.  Reading days for The Fantastic Mr Foxes and The Magic Fingers are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please can you also sign your child’s reading record book?  The Willy Wonkas should bring their reading in every day. P.E is on a Thursday this term. A change of t-shirt is advised. Thank you for all your support. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch or write a note in your child’s homework jotter if you would like something clarified.

P4J have again this week won the jewels for a second time! We have shown a great example to other classes by following the school rules. We thoroughly enjoyed our treat, which was to have a fun time on the spacehoppers! Some of us fell off as they were very bouncy, but we picked ourselves up and continued bouncing!
