Eco-schools
We have just been awarded our Silver Award from Eco Schools Scotland. A huge thank you to everyone involved. Thank you to parents, staff and pupils.
Composting and Recycling
The children and staff continue to recycle paper, fruit and vegetable waste. This involves a dedicated team from the Eco Group who help to collect the paper, empty the compost bins and look after the worms in our Wormery.
Primary 7 have created posters to remind people that the paper towels can be used as bedding for the worms.
Energy Conservation
Primary 3 made lots of smart notices to remind people to switch off lights to help conserve energy.
Wildlife Garden
We are aiming to maintain the garden at the main entrance and also try to create a Wildlife Garden. Many thanks to parents who said that they may be able to help with a little bit of digging! Mr Richard English, our Countryside Ranger has brought along a woodpile to put in our Wildlife Garden. This will create a great habitat for minibeasts. He has helped Primary 3 make some birdfeeders. We have also planted some wildflower seeds in the classroom which can be transferred out to the garden when it is warmer.

I think you have done wonderful works with the ECO scheme.
Please send me any information that you can about this as we are also interested in doing some work with our pupils and parents to improve the environment . I want to take part in recycling plastic, this is a major concern as plastic takes a thousand years to rot and animals are severely affected due to this.
