Primary Four visit Edinburgh Castle
- Castle School
- View from the Castle Ramparts
- Building Our Towers Out of Clay
- Hard Hats on to Go Down St David’s tower
- In the Great Hall
- Trying on Some Armour and Weapons
What a fantastic day Primary four had at the castle on Monday. We got to go down Saint David’s tower which is not normally open to the public. Luckily we had Craig to guide us and we all wore hard hats just in case! The day was a mixture of fun, educational activities and sight seeing - as someone said “we’ve been to Castle School! Take a look at some of our pictures and watch out for the children’s podcast.
The class are also making a siege machine called a mangonel. We found this website with a challenge game to knock the target down with a machine called a trebuchet. Have a go - it’s not easy! www.warwicksiege.co.uk

Looks like you had a fantastic trip Primary 4. I love visiting castles and have been to Edinburgh Castle a few times. I was lucky enough to have tea with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards one day but I have never visited Saint David’s tower! It is great to see what you are all learning, keep up the good work!
