Primary 3 visit to The Museum of Childhood

In Primary 3 we have been learning about how toys move. We have also been finding out how they have changed over the years.

Clockwork train We saw a clockwork train like this one at the Museum.

hand puppet We got to play with hand puppets. We made it move by moving our hands.

old-victorian-doll.jpg We looked at Victorain dolls like this one.

shoe-doll.jpg If children did not have enough money to buy dolls like the one above they would make one from an old shoe, wooden spoons and clothes pegs, we saw this doll at the Museum.

I know you had a fantastic time. I’m surprised Mrs Greenwood managed to get you back to school with all of those toys around!

The kids love these trips. I wish I had a chance to visit something as exciting as the museum of childhood when I was at primary school. Oh yes, it was around then, it’s not my toys in it now, despite what Hayley says!

I had a great time at the museum. I think people like Cathrine want to go on another class trip like I do.
