Posted by Mrs Bruce in : Uncategorized , comments closed

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the Rag Bag collection.  We raised £71.00 for the School Fund and hopefully the textiles which were handed in will be well used in Africa.

We hope that this will be a continuing project.  Many thanks once again.

The school uniform for S6 includes a red 6th year tie and red braiding around the school blazer. If your heart is sinking at the thought of all that sewing, then we have the answer for you.

As part of the fundraising initiative for the NBHS visit to Malawi 2010, one of our parents has offered to provide a braid sewing service. The complete cost for a blazer is £10 which will include the purchase of the braid.

Please contact Mrs Ellie Catleugh or Helen Catleugh in 4F1 on Tel no. 01620 895845 or e-mail bothcatleugh@hotmail.com

Curriculum for Excellence June 16, 2009

Posted by Philip Immirzi in : Parent Council , 2comments

SPTC aka the Scottish Parent Teachers Council has produced a leaflet on Curriculum for Excellence and what it will mean for parents and their children. Helpfully there is a section on the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) showing how the new qualifications will fit in.

A summary and link to the leaflet are here.

Whilst I have your attention, NBHS Parent Council will be recruiting new talent in the next session. If you have wondered about getting involved with the school, this is a good time to think about it. There are lots of interesting developments as well as challenges ahead. We are looking at new ways of getting parents involved, including using technology creatively. So why not get in touch?
