Bienvenue! Willkommen! Bienvenido!

3 01 2008

…which is to say, welcome to the North Berwick modern languages blog.
By running this blog we hope to add another dimension to modern language learning at North Berwick High School. Whether as a means for pupils to access extra help with homework, for parents and carers to see how their children are progressing, or for us at North Berwick to extend an open hand beyond the bondaries of East Lothian - nay, Scotland! - this blog should serve above all as an extra medium for communication. Between ourselves as a school community, with members of the wider community, with people the world over. After all, language learning, it’s all about keeping the talk going :)

Congratulations on your blog!
As you know the careers blog at edubuzz.org supports the European Day of Languages and I am looking forward to posting careers related information on your blog.

Hi Suzanne,
I’m just visiting for the first time and want to congratulate you and your colleagues on creating such a welcoming blog. There’s a knack to writing for the web, and you’ve got it. Can’t be long till your courses are over-subscribed.
Re adding more to the blog: would it be helpful to offer your visitors a sidebar button to “Translate this site to French”?
It’s quite easy to do. You can see an example of how it might be done over at Ormiston Primary.
And do let me know if you’ve ideas you want to explore. Edubuzz is evolving all the time, and it might be you’ve new ideas we haven’t thought of yet. ;)
