I wasn’t much looking forward to the Easter holidays. Amusing x-number of Offspring over two and a half weeks of unpredictable spring weather felt as if it was going to be a considerable undertaking.
But we’ve really enjoyed ourselves. We’ve always had lots to do, and the days have rocketed past. It was astonishing how quickly we settled down to a different way of living.
What’s been good? Relaxed breakfasts without the school run; not having to go out in the rain; being spontaneous about what we do and when; just chilling; enjoying each other’s company; being able to let TinySoup have a decent nap and spending some quality time with older Offspring as a result.
What’s been tough? Finding enough time for TinySoup; keeping the house in any semblence of order and - Oh lordy - finding a bit of time for myself. Be it ever so humble, this bit of time is mine and I treasure it. Mine to use or to waste with impunity.
It’s been lovely to spend some time with the Offspring. I know I’ll settle back pretty quickly, but yesterday I was sorry to think that it was the last day. Can you believe, I’m actually looking forward to the summer holidays?
