Children.
You rip your heart out for them and place it at their feet.
However much they trample on it, it’s still theirs, forever.
The pangs of childbirth are nothing compared to the heartache to come over the years.
I wept this morning over something an Offspring said at breakfast, and dissolved into tears again this afternoon when we talked it through and they showed such insight and empathy in seeing the other side of it.
Kids, eh?
