Fairtrade Event February 22, 2010
Posted by wgordon in : Enterprise, Events , add a commentMid Calder Primary are hosting a BIG SWAP event on Wednesday, 3rd March. We have invited parents and the local community to a presentation of Fairtrade by some of P7B pupils. There will be a BIG SWAP stall where you can buy a Fairtrade item and there will be a cafe run by the PSA. This event begins at 9am and runs until 10.30am. We would be really pleased to welome you, so come along and join in the BIG SWAP!
The children have been working hard to organise this event and in order to find out more about Fairtrade items, we visited some local supermarkets. The photo above was taken in Scotmid with some of the Fairtrade produce.
Next we went to Asda and even found some Fairtrade ice cream.
Asda gave us some oranges and bananas to take back to school!
Lastly, we visited Lidl and found even more Fairtrade produce. We got sugar, rice and cereal bars.

On Monday Mid Calder Primary are having a GLOW MEET entitled Good Afternoon Mid Calder. The programme will be hosted by Lewis and Tia from P6B and they will be going live around the school to find out what has been happening in each class.

Rachel, Erin, Eilidh and Charlotte entered a gymnastics competition at Craigswillow Sports Centre on Thursday the 18th of Febuary. They did really well and came second with a silver medal. WELL DONE!=) girls!

On Thursday the children held a CARNIVAL theme day to raise money for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

P7A discovering new technology February 4, 2010

Mark made a bit of a wacky shape but obviously he likes it!
Ross discovered that you could colour them in.
It looks like Connor and Rhiannon made a wheel.

Some of the boys were playing foot ball in the snow and they probably got very cold!
We were writing our names in the snow and having a lot of fun.
Eilidh and Laura were exhausted from playing in the snow!
The girls were having so much fun they started to jump up and down.
