Marshalling
The Edinburgh Marathon organisers are still looking for volunteers to marshal a section of the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 25th May. The Parent Council would like to appeal to parents to volunteer their time in order that we can form a Team consisting of a minimum of 15 people (anyone over 16 years) for which we will recieve £250. Volunteers will be required to be available all day with the finish time dependent on which part of the course is allocated. The section would be determined once the team of 15 was complete.
Extra volunteers would be able desirable to relieve team members and allow volunteers to carry out the marshalling in shifts and lessen each individual’s commitment. All volunteers will recieve a Goody Bag and will be briefed on their duties and responsibilities which are basically these will be to ensure the safe passage of the runners and to give basic first aid assistance if required. No special skills are required, the organisers rely on volunteers for all the marshaling, water stops etc.
Last month a team of 12 parents and pupils volunteered to marshal final Musselburgh section of the Edinburgh Half Marathon so we’d be really keen for as many people as possible to consider giving up some time for this event.
Car Boot Sale
The Parent Council are also planning a Car Boot Sale to be held in the School Playground from ten till noon on Saturday 17th May. So clear out the attic and turn it into cash! £5 per car, pay on the day. Gates open at 9 for setting up. Hot food and drinks will also be on sale.
