The Parent Council held it first 50/50 fund raiser at the First Year Parents night with one lucky parent winning £50 for guessing the 3 last numbers on a £50 note. Look out for another chance at the next paerents night, the odds are better than wining the lottery!!
On Sunday the Parent Council boosted its finds by marshaling the final sector of the Edinburgh 1/2 Marathon. Twelve brave souls volunteered to cover parts of the course between The Quay and the Race Course on an initially wet and windy morning keeping runners safe from the hazards of motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. Many thanks to Stuart, Dianne and Kisten Goodall, Fiona Carmichael, Margaret Wood, Roger Knox, Linda Watson, Lesley Birrell, Margaret Stewart, Rosemary, Susan, Catherine and Gordon Eadie.
Our next event will be a Car Boot Sale on May 17th so watch this space!
Next Parent Council Meeting on 15 April 2008. If you have any items you would like considered, please leave a message here.
A very successful Car Boot Sale was held on Saturday 17th May inspite of it being a rather wet morning. We had 31 cars and a very large van selling their wares which brought in £162.50 and the Parent Council refreshment stall provided very welcome hot drinks and food and made a profit of £99.50. Grand total of £262 which is excellent considering the weather. Many thanks to Denise, Jackie, Jean, Lisa, Dianne and Margaret for all their help.
I think this page would benefit from a bit of redesign. It feels like it should be the MGS Parents page but it is NOT. The link at the top of the page which does take you to MGS Parents is not very clear unless you know what you’re looking for. A paticular problem is that comments look like posts and aren’t updated so Jean’s comment (No. 2) while right when it was submitted is superfluous now and when I say the next meeting is on the 4th June it gives this comment a rather short shelf-life.
