Where can I find and print off a list of all the Holidays etc for the year beginning Aug 2007 ?

As a MGS old boy (older than I care to remember), is there a place on the site where old codgers like me can catch up with other equally old codgers ? I was a Grammarian from summer ‘65 to summer ‘71.
Thought I might find info about the school day (start/finish times etc) along with any after-school activities. Is this on the site?
Can you tell me about any night classes you run? I am particularly interested in Art and Design and Spanish Highers.

Sorry but the school does not make decisions on any room hire at the weekends or in the evenings. You would need to chaise this up with the person that you made your original book with.

My name is Lee Seymour though when I was at MGS briefly in 1992 I was called Lee Morgan. Just writing to see whether the school would like to have a copy of my book which comes out on 14th February 2008. It`s called “Hemiplegic Utopia, Manc Style. Living With Hemiplegia.” and deals with my life observations of society as a partially disabled person in the form of ten short stories. I`ve suffered from Hemiplegia ( a form of cerebal palsy that weakens one side of the body since birth which is sometimes compared to that as someone having a sroke.)

Roll of thunder hear my cry
Introduction
The book I am going to write about is called roll of thunder hear my cry.
The author of this book is called Mildred. D Taylor. I am going to write about Stacey as she is the character I admire the most.
Stacey is a complex character and has many different personalities.
The story is set in Missisipi in the 1930’s, it was a hard and difficult place to grow up for black children. Cassie finds it very difficult o understand why the farm means so much to her dad, but then she begins to reach a painful understanding when she witnesses the hatred and destruction around her and learns when it is important to fight for principle, even if she brings terrible hardships.
Stacey has got many different attitudes towards a lot of different things. He can be very moody at times but can be a very generous person also; He always interferes and sometimes likes to be the centre of attention. Although he’s quite a moody character he can be very helpful and fun too.
I admire Stacey’s personality he’s a very strong person and will fight for what he believes in. He wont let anyone boss him around or anyone tell him he’s wrong without an argument even if he is because he likes to torment people and wind them up a little. One thing he did was “ refused to apologise to Lillian Jean while forced to.”

Is there a Former Pupils’ area on this site which I may use ? I was at the Grammar 1965-1971 (starting with Big Tam Henderson as HM and ending with Doctor Cormack) in forms 1B1, 2B1, 3B1, 4A, 5 and 6. In fact, the present school badge was adopted during my time there !
So many stories to swop !

Hello again
Thanks to Messrs Ferguson and Thomson, teachers of History at MGS (1965-71), I have maintained a never-ending interest in history and historical research as a hobby ! I would really welcome an e-mail address for MGS as I am currently interested in lesser-well known historical events with a Musselburgh connection. Currently, I am interested in Musselburgh’s involvement in Britain’s worst ever rail crash, the Gretna Disaster of 22nd May 1915, in which 227 persons died and a further 246 were injured. Virtually all those killed and injured were volunteer soldiers of the 1/7th Batt Royal Scots, the local battalion for Leith, East Edinburgh and Musselburgh, who were on a troop train en route for Liverpool Docks - destination Gallipoli. Of those casualties in the crash, 26 Musselburgh men died and a further 44 were injured. I have the list of Musselburgh men.
I was wondering if MGS has ever done research on Musselburgh’s loss in this disaster, or intends to. If my contribution or initial ideas would be of help, I would be pleased to assist in any way.

Intoursport World Travel is a long-established sports tour organiser - established after the MD Mike Williams organised the first ever UK club side to tour Australia - Sevenoaks School in 1976.
I was a player on that tour and now I have the pleasure of organising school and club tours all over the world, giving other young men and women the opportunity to enjoy wonderful experiences.
It is with this in mind that I am contacting you in the hope that you may be able to assist with a Canadian rugby team touring the UK this Summer.
The team is an U17 rugby team, and will be in Edinburgh in July - they are looking for a fixture on Tuesday 15th July 2008.
They are also keen to have the players billeted - they are approximately 20 in number - if this is something that you could arrange for the nights of the 14th and 15th July.
Please do let me know if you have an interest in hosting this tour party - I can then provide you with more detail.
