World Numeracy Day: Can you find and solve the puzzles around the school?

To help celebrate World Numeracy Day students at MGS have been asked to solve number puzzles around the school.
 
Every subject department has set a puzzle that help you fill in your number grid (issued at registration).

You will need the following information to find the number that should go in ‘box 18’. Good Luck.

 

Enterprising Maths Competition

Congratulations to four of our 3rd year pupils who took part in the Finals of the Enterprising Maths Competition in Glasgow last Thursday. The competition was held in the Jordanhill Campus of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, and our team were competing against around 50 other schools from all over Scotland.

There are a lot of pupils working around the school with video cameras, voice recorders and digital cameras at the moment. Great! We love using ICT in many of our lessons at Musselburgh Grammar School!

MGS Events Page Updated

Mr Hall has been working hard on the Musselburgh Grammar Events Page. The page now also includes pictures and video form the recent S6 and Staff Burns Night as well as other footage of end-of-term shows, gigs and other social events.

Wacky Hair Day (and not just from the wind!)

Today at MGS we had a Wacky Hair Day to raise money for the Blythswood Charity Appeal. Well done to Katie in 1G1 who won the £10 HMV Voucher for the wackiest hair style! In total we managed to raise over £190 for charity! Well done to everyone involved.

The October Mag

Our S6 ‘Mag Team’ have been working hard to produce the Autumn School Magazine. The October 2007 edition includes all of your normal news, interviews, poetry, essays, rants, jokes, cartoons, horoscopes and dedications. At only 50p a copy it’s an absolute bargain and all profits from the Mag go to Amnesty International.

Using robots to solve problems

A number of our S3 Students took part in a large enterprise event today. The event was co-organised by Careers Scotland and Determined to Succeed. These are some of the things that they got up to during the event.
