My First Year at The Grammer

In S1 I have done lots of things and enjoyed most of them. My favourite thing was Go-Karting as I had never been before. We never got to go until 11.30 so we got to play games on the computer in the morning. Once we got to Livingston we got lost but we still got there on time. Five people go at a time around the track at a time and I was in the first group. Once I sat down in the Kart we got told we could go. It was great fun going around the track although I crashed twice. I came fourth out of fifth and I was surprised I never came last but I was also pleased. My favourite subject this year has been P.E as enjoy playing lots of sports and competing against other people. My least favourite subject was Art as I found it quite boring especially the clay part as I found it really hard. Overall I have really enjoyed my year at the Grammer and I am looking forward to next year.

Smoking Video

I think this smoking advert is shocking as it’s disgusting and it shows what smoking does to your lungs. It’s quite good because at first you think nothing’s wrong then all this black stuff (tar) starts to dribble out of her mouth. Imagine having all of that tar inside your body slowly cloging up your lungs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8CGUJcg-CM

What I think of Smoking

I think smoking is a big health hazard and should be banned. I think the government should 6 months for those who smoke to cut down in and then after that I think they sholud just ban it all together. I think they should do this because it’s damaging everyones health if your around a smoker even if your not smoking. It also makes you really unhealthy and you often have problems breathing.

My Way of Learning

In Soc Ed (Social Education) I got given a sheet of paper. I was told to write all my classes on it and the things I do outside of school. Beside each class I had to write my favourite way of being tought in each class eg Maths-from a textbook. I also done the ways I don’t like being tought in each class. I then had to write beside each one if it was a kinesthetic, visual or auditory way of learning. After that I added up each way of learning and I found out I was a kinesthetic/visual learner.

New Year’s Goals (Although a bit late)

1. To get moved up a class in Tennis. 2. To keep my Bedroom tidy.3.To improve in football.

Christmas!

This year I had a great Christmas as I got loads of great things and had loads of fun. It started when I woke at five in the morning (a normal time to wake up for me) and went downstairs to see what I got. I was not allowed to open anything untill my Mum, Dad and sister were awake so I had to wait 2 hours untill they finally got up. My sister and I then opened all of our gifts. I got a new bike, 2 pairs of trainers and a couple of PS2 games. I also got £70. My mum and i then went to walk my 2 dogs up at Newhails Woods. Next I went to my Granny and Grandad’s house were I had Christmas Dinner, I also played with my twin cousins who are 4 .We then went home and watched T.V for a while. Then I went to sleep and Christmas Finally came to an end.

My December at the Grammer

I have enjoyed my time at Musselburgh Grammer School especially in December. There have been lots of things going on around the school e.g.: The pantomime, The Christmas disco and the Christmas concert. My favourite part was when I got to play my guitar in the concert. The guitar group played a Christmas Medley and Concerto D. I also found it quite funny when the conductors of the orchestra where waving their hands a round like mad men. The school panto (Oliver with a Twist) was also really good and very funny. I have enjoyed December at the Grammer but I am really, really looking forward to the holidays.

My Parents Evening

My mum, dad and I went round the school to eight different teachers. First we went to Mr Sneddon my Science teacher. He said I was doing really well and had one of the highest test scores in the class. I then went to Art, Maths and Music I got good reports off of all of them. I then went to P.E and my mum started asking if tennis was in the school and if it would be set up. She got told to talk to Mr Woodhead. After that we went to my last to classes French and Citizenship were I also got a good report. After that I went home. I really enjoyed it and found it funny watching my mum and dad getting lost round the school.

My First 8 Weeks at MGS

I have enjoyed my first 8 weeks at MGS and it is completely different to how I thought it was going to be. My favourite subjects are P.E, C.D.T and Music. My least favourite subjects are Citizenship and Home Economics. The reason I don’t like Citizenship because of rules, rights and things I’m not interested in. The reason I don’t like Home Economics is because I can’t sew.  I have so far got an F for a P.E test and a D/E for Music.
