Thank you for posting this. I’ve read other books by Anne Fine and I think she is a fine(sorry!) author who draws you in to her characters’ lives very carefully. I’m sure other people in your class would like this too.

Well done. I loved reading the reviews and I think its great that you are using a blog to let others know just how good or bad the books that you read are. The internet is often criticised for reducing the amount of time that people spend reading these days. Hopefully your blog can be used to show that’s not the case in your instance.

I’m pleased that you enjoyed this book, Colin. You wrote a very good critical review. This was the first time I had taught “The Tulip Touch” to your class and I enjoyed reading it too. I really like “Flour Babies” by Anne Fine - that may be one you’d enjoy as well. Perhaps your Mum would let you start off with some Stephen King short stories - The “Different Seasons”may be a good one to start with. She could read it first and then make her decision. It’s got the story that the film “Stand by Me” was made from, and also “The Shawshank Redemption”. Do you like Fantasy Novels? Anne McCaffery is a great author in this genre with her Pern books.
