In my holidays i did lots of different sports at the sport centre to keep me busy. i did badimton, cycling, archery and lots more it was really fun.The cycling was really hard work. Ii did it for two days. One day I went from Pentcaitland to Mussselburgh and it was really muddy and slippery. I also did archery which was good fun - I won a bag of sweets as I got an arrow in a bucket which was really hard but I managed.
The second week of my summer holidays was spent staying with my grandma in Aberdeen. I spent quite a bit of time doing things with my cousins Andrew and Amy including going to the carnaval, circus and cinema which I really enjoyed.
The thing I most enjoyed about my holidays was the week I spent on holiday in England with my mum, dad and sister especially the trips to Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park. I enjoyed Alton Towers slightly more as it had more exciting rides.
My mum, sister and I travelled to Burton upon Trent by train and my dad drove down from Musselburgh and picked us up at the train station. The Marina was then only about a 10 minute drive. While on holiday in addition to the theme parks we went to a number of country parks/museums which had been set up in the new National Forest. These included a maize mace, Conkers and Snibston and were really interesting as they had loads of interactive things to do as well as great outdoor areas with play areas, country trails and assult courses .
On the last day we had a bit of a disaster when we got back to our Houseboat to find we had no water as builders working on the marina had cut through the pipes. Lucky the people on the marina allowed us to use a narrowboat moored next door to us for water. This was the first time I had ever been on a narrow boat and although it was interesting to see it would be cramped to live on - our houseboat was much nicer.
On the last week of my summer holidays I tried something new - a weeks sking course at Hillend. It was really good fun. Now I can ski from the first red run at Hillend. At the end of the week I had to do a test. We had to snowplough turns from the first red run fast. I passed the level 3 ski test - I was so pleased. I got a certificate. The only bad thing about the skiing was when I fell one day when my ski got stuck in the astro turf and I fell flat on my face and ended up with a swollen jaw and a number of bruises.
There is nothing I didn’t enjoy about the summer holidays. I had a great time and can’t believe we’re back at school already. Its nice to see all my friends again at school but I’m already looking forward to the next holiday in October
