We have just completed our annual Health Fortnight. We had many visitors in school and learned how to eat in a healthy way and how to look after our teeth. We used the new Keeping Myself Safe program and used the computer to record the strategies that we have learned to keep us safe. We enjoyed watching and discussing the scenarios and discussing them with our friends. PC Cairns was unable to attend the planned session about drugs but we were lucky that one of the parents who took part in our walk to Winton Woods, PC Smith, was also a policeman and he stepped in and led a very informative session about the various categories of drugs. We especially enjoyed looking at the samples, enclosed in plastic cases, that he brought with him. Some of us were able to wear his stab proof vest and feel what it is like to be handcuffed! We intend to make a slideshow or a podcast about our experiences soon. pc-smith.JPGClick on the photograph to enlarge it.
